In the summer of 2012, five Afghan master musicians and two of their students joined three popular German musicians for a German tour. They performed in Weimar, Rudolstadt, Bonn and Berlin.
In the studios of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, the ensemble created a valuable musical documentation of their work. Following workshops in Weimar, the Afghan musicians held discussions with representatives of the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM), the Aga Khan Music Initiative, UNESCO and various official international and European organisations regarding the future of Afghan musical traditions in the world's intangible cultural heritage. The German radio stations WDR and RBB broadcast concerts from Rudolstadt and Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt.
